unusual knives

A blacksmith for over 50 years, Wu Tseng-dong has live on the Kinmen Island,  a small Taiwanese territory four miles off the coast of mainland China. From small hunting knives to swords, Wu has crafted them all, but he’s now forging chef knives from an unusual source of material: old bomb shells from the WWII and the Cold War. Since artillery steel is denser than regular steel, it means his knives have more durability and strength to them, which is a commodity that chefs look for in good kitchen knives. A great way to reduce the overabundance of “trash” and repurposing it into useful tools!
