Evan Ruggiero has been tap dancing since he was 6 years old, but at the age of 19, he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and had to have his right leg amputated above the knee in 2010. He thought he would never be able to tap dance again, that is until his teacher showed him a video of Peg Leg Bates, a tap dancer from the early 1900’s who was a famous amputee tap dancer. Evan learned how to dance with a peg leg and is back in studio dancing his heart away!
