Composer Mark Korven has been creating music for horror movies for over 20 years, and he felt that the effects that the industry were becoming stagnant due to how often the sounds were being used. So Korven asked his friend Duggan-Smith to craft him the perfect instrument for creating the nightmarish noises he needed. Enter the ‘Apprehension Engine’ – an acoustic instrument that Korven is able to create utterly terrifying, horribly haunting and completely nightmarish sounds.
