How Traditional Teas Are Taking Root in the Blackfeet Nation

On the Blackfeet Reservation in Browning, Montana is The Pantry, a local food bank. At the height of covid they were asked if they had any tea that could be put into boxes. What started as a simple request, evolved into a community wide effort to learn how to grow their own herbal plants, how to properly dry them, learn of the different medicinal properties they contain, how to blend them to combine sweet and bitter flavors and how to brew each blend.
