Who would have thought that falconry would give the english language words like “hoodwinked” or “fed up”? We can thank William Shakespeare for that! Shakespeare, the famous playwright, also had another hobby that he was very fond of—falconry. He became so enamored with it that he started to add falconry references to his play and gave us words/phrasings such as “under your thumb”, “hoodwinked” and “fed up”.
