With over 144 million different objects collected from all over our planet, The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History boasts an extensive collection, but the public only seems just a small sample of these. About 99% of the Smithsonian’s treasures remain behind the scenes, where scientists work with these objects to study and decipher the world in which we live in. With each specimen offering its own tiny clue to the natural world and helping us better understand the planet that we inhabit.
