This video of a calving event at the Ilulissat Glacier in Western Greenland captures the beauty of a glacier, as well as the devastation that climate change is having on the glaciers of this planet. The calving event took 75 minutes and was the size of lower Manhattan. This glacier had receded 8 miles from 1902-2002, then from 2000-2010 it retreated 10 miles; so in 10 years it retreated more than it had the previous 100 years. Dreading how far it will retreat in the next 10 years.
